Hip, Knee & Foot Injury Recovery in Sarasota
Your hips, knees, and feet are wired from your lower back.
We look at the joint that hurts and the nerves and muscles that run it.

Why the joint that hurts is only part of the story
The nerves to your hips, knees, and feet come from your lower back. When those nerves are under stress, the muscles around a joint can fire weak or late, and the joint wears down faster.
That’s why knee pain is often really a hip or foot problem. The knee just sits in the middle and takes the hits. And an ankle that keeps rolling or a heel that hurts every morning can trace back to how your hips and lower back are loading your legs.
does this Sound familiar?
- Hip or knee pain with running, stairs, or getting up from a chair
- Knee pain that keeps coming back after sports or training
- Heel or arch pain, especially first thing in the morning
- An ankle that keeps rolling
How we find the cause: Alignment, movement, spinal Damage
Every new patient gets the same thorough starting point. We test your spine three ways:
Alignment
Posture checks, balance scales, and eyes-closed stability testing to see how your body is carrying itself.
movement
Range of motion through your whole spine, plus how each segment moves on its own.
spinal Damage
Full-spine digital X-rays can show disc changes, arthritis, bone spurs, or old injuries that may have created a stress pattern.
For hips, knees, and feet, we test strength, balance, and motion side to side, and check the lower back levels that supply the area that hurts.
From the side, your spine should have smooth, healthy curves. We measure yours and chart it against normal:
MildUp to 15% loss of curve
Moderate15–30% loss of curve
SevereMore than 30% loss of curve
Your PostureRay X-Ray Report shows you exactly where you stand, and we re-measure along the way so you can see progress, not just feel it.
How we help hip, knee, and foot injuries
Depending on what your exam shows, your plan may include:
NeuFit (nervous system + fitness)
The Neubie helps us find where your nervous system is holding a muscle back, then retrain it while you move, so the joint gets the support it needs.
Corrective Chiropractic Care
Adjustments to the spine that supplies the area, and to the hip, knee, ankle, or foot when a joint is stuck.
Spinal Decompression
If your exam shows a potential disc bulge or herniation in your lower back sending symptoms into your hip or leg, decompression on our Chattanooga Triton 6M traction table is used to gently take pressure off the disc and nerve.
PLACEHOLDER – YOUR STORY: A patient story about a knee, hip, or foot problem that turned out to be coming from somewhere else. – Dr. Alex
What to expect
Feeling better and being fully better aren’t the same thing. Most people notice changes early on. Truly stabilizing a spine that’s been out of alignment for years can take up to 6-12 months of consistency… That doesn’t mean 6-12 months to feel better, it just means that your body needs time to hold the correction so it doesn’t slide back.
Will it hurt? Changing a spine that hasn’t moved in years can feel like a workout at the beginning. If you feel it, it’s usually in the first couple of weeks, and we adapt our technique to what works best for you.
When to get emergency care: If you can’t bear weight after an injury, or a joint is hot, red, and swollen with a fever, get medical care right away.

Frequently asked questions
Do you adjust hips, knees, and ankles?
When a joint is stuck and it will help, yes. Most of the time we also work on the spine that supplies it.
Why check my lower back for knee or foot pain?
The nerves to your hips, knees, and feet leave the spine in your lower back. Pressure there can change how the muscles around those joints fire.
Can NeuFit help me avoid surgery?
Some patients use it as a conservative option before deciding on surgery. If your exam shows your case needs a surgeon, we’ll tell you straight.
Where are you located?
We’re at 5250 17th St, Unit 101, on the corner of 17th & Honore, centrally located between University and Fruitville and about 5 minutes from I-75 and UTC. We see patients from Sarasota, Bradenton, and Lakewood Ranch.
Ready to find out what’s going on?
Your new patient exam includes a full consultation, nerve scans, digital X-rays, and a PostureRay report, so you leave knowing exactly where you stand.
